All Databases in Oasis-EHR are exclusively Orthopedic in content. This allows the most rapid and accurate data access and the least cumbersome navigation. Every aspect of the encounter, including patient histories, physical exams, workflow, tasking, procedure notes, x-ray reports, and routed documents, follow existing Orthopedic practices.
All user interfaces have been designed for simplicity and ease of use. A "tab" configuration of intuitive categories allows users to "toggle" between different sections of the chart, and patients, without having to close the previous tabs. Screens are uncluttered and relate only to the action in use.
Patient histories are entered directly into Oasis-EHR either on-line, or on-site, in either English or Spanish, by the patient. No copying , scanning or transcription is required completely defaulted, modifiable, diagnosis-specific encounter notes have been created for over 90% of the average Orthopedic practice.
These "MD-Sets" contain physical exams, x-ray findings and treatment plans typical for a given diagnosis.
Defaulted templates, for common office procedures, such as: aspirations, nail removal, lacerations, fracture reductions, etc., have also been created. A "Pre-op H&P" template is also included.
X-ray reports and cover pages for referral letters, legal, workman's comp and insurance reports have also been created.
All "MD-Sets " and templates can be easily modified in real time, by the physician.
All possible segments of Oasis-EHR have been pre-populated to save physicians time. Complete encounter notes (MD-Sets ) including physical exam, x-ray reports and treatment plans have been constructed for over 90% of the average othopedist's workload.
The overall layout of the chart mimics a paper chart layout and includes "tabs" for the functions you will need for your "normal" workflow.
Thirteen anatomical, region-specific databases and exclusively orthopedic Subject Matter, eliminate dealing with cumbersome, unnecessary material during documentation. This facilitates ease of use and saves time.
X-ray views, clinical tasks, medication lists, routed document categories, fracture reductions and op notes for routine office procedures have already been created.
Names of diagnoses in the "Diagnosis Library" have been edited to reflect common terminology, rather than the confusing multiplicity of terms found in the coding databases.
Navigation to a Completely Defaulted, Modifiable, Diagnosis-specific Encounter Note is Rapidly Accomplished by simply navigating Frank Netter, M.D.™ Illustrations, to a specific anatomic location and associated diagnosis.
As few as 3 pen clicks access over 90% of the diagnoses used by the average orthopedist.
Step 1: Cick the Diagnosis tab;
Step 2: Click the body part;
Step 3: Click the desired diagnosis and you are presented a complete encounter note, typical for that specific diagnosis.
The note can then be edited as necessary for any given patient. Free text comments can also be added via script, stylus, voice or keystroke.
This image feature also enables discussion of the diagnosis with the patient using visual illustrations. Voice, script or text navigation, from a Customizable Diagnosis Library, can also be utilized, if the surgeon prefers.
Oasis-EHR introduces "SENTRY Workflow Monitor". This system enables all users to know the exact location and status of every patient, at all times. This intuitive system is made up of two columns which have been added to the schedule on every user's dashboard. One column shows the office location of each patient. The other indicates the status of that patient. Each column is both color and text coded for instant verification.
In addition, any user action which changes a patient's status, (e.g. Ordering an x-ray, cast, or injection, or verifying completion of a patient history), automatically changes that patient's status on the schedule.
In addition, all tasks are ordered electronically via "to do" items to a targeted staff member(s). No more searching for someone to take an x-ray, apply a cast, prepare an injection or give a DME to a patient!
Oasis-EHR Provides a Complete Code Compliance System built around Unicor Medical's "Alpha II" Coding Program. Our system automatically captures your codes, validates them against your diagnoses, and advises the you of the E/M coding level which has been documented. The user must select the actual e/m code to be used. A list of modifiers is included at this stage, from which a modifier can be easily added to a code.
All codes are then summarized to an electronic superbill, which is sent to billing via "to do" items or e-mail, when the physician "signs off".
Drug Prescriptions can be Electronically Generated. Oasis-EHR uses First DataBank'sDrug database. Drug-drug interactions, descriptions, allergies, past and current drug history access buttons are part of the template. An alphabetical "favorites" list and a "category" list have also been created and can be easily edited as desired. An "add to favorites" button is also included. Prescriptions can be printed, e-mailed or faxed.
In addition to drug prescriptions, Oasis-EHR also electronically generates prescriptions for physical therapy, diagnostic studies and laboratory studies. Like drug prescriptions, these prescriptions can be printed, e-mailed or faxed.
All diagnoses have icd-9 codes attached when selected. X-ray orders, with corresponding CPT codes attached, are defaulted by the number of views taken, thereby mirroring reimbursement policies.
Fracture care, office procedures, casts, splints, surgeries, ER procedures, all have corresponding CPT codes attached and visible for review.
DME items and injectible medications are tagged with appropriate codes as well.
All codes are automatically included in the code compliance system and Electronic Superbill and forwarded to billing, at sign-off. You select the diagnosis, procedure or task and Oasis-EHR does the coding for you. You will, of course, select which e/m code and modifiers you wish to use.
Written reports, images, can be easily scanned into the chart by any staff member you designate and routed to a category of your choosing.
A "routed documents" tab is always accessible at the top of the chart, with only 1 click. The program comes with a defaulted list of commonly used categories, which can be modified, expanded or contracted, as desired by the individual physician.
The routing of any new document automatically sends a "to do" item to the physician, which requires and documents, physician review and sign-off.
Referral letters can be automatically generated in narrative, summary or outline formats. Legal, Workman's Comp. And insurance reports can be generated in narrative format. Cover pages have been defaulted for all report types and can be easily edited as desired.
Patients may enter their medical histories on-line, or on-site, in English or Spanish. All users see the same history summary upon opening the patient's chart. This expedites workflow, avoids long waits for patients, and minimizes schedule back-ups for physicians. In addition, patients no longer have to be annoyed by repeating their history 2-3 times.
Patients' secondary diagnoses, allergies, other pertinent medical factors are automatically captured from this electronic patient data capture (PDC) and included in the E/M coding formula.
Schedule entries and changes are automatically updated from your practice management system (PMS) using the new
"HL-7 Integra" interface engine.
